In Search of Oldton



If you're prepared to walk out here in pitch dark with the right viewing equipment, you may well be rewarded with a sighting of Giles' elusive nightjar.

Apparently, they like quiet rocky places such as this. Indeed, it probably suited the nightjar very well that Oldton was disappearing.

Myth has it that these birds represent ghosts, and imitating their sound can bring harm to those who attempt it.

Could it be that the nightjars spotted at various locations around the world are, in fact, the ghosts of former citizens of Oldton?
