In Search of Oldton

Somewhere along this road lies Cherry Tree Farm.

Or was it Chapelfields Farm nestling in that dip in the road, the only hiding place in a flat landscape?

Whichever it was, both Paul and David agree that it was demolished in the 1950s, and that the motorway began to encroach on Oldton from the south east, rather then the north west, but I have a video fragment that suggests otherwise.

David's memories have to be taken with a pinch of salt generally, since he is the man who claims to remember a lap dancing club opening up in Oldton.

Still, it's perfectly possible that the motorway did have sliproads at both ends of the town. A ring of tarmac may well have encircled the town and slowly choked the life out of it.
